  • Ideally, yes, but in general only before your initial consultation. Upon booking this appointment you will sent a health questionnaire to complete online.

    This will not normally be necessary for subsequent appointments.

  • It depends on your circumstances.

    If you have recently had any tests performed via your GP or a specialist consultant then please send a copy of the results prior to your initial consultation. You can now obtain access electronically to these records via your GP to share.

    There is ever-growing research and scientific evidence to support the importance of a diverse gut microflora and its influence across the various body systems (e.g. nervous system, genito-urinary, immune system). Depending on your situation a comprehensive gastro-intestional mapping / microbiome analysis, bladder microbiome or vaginal microbiome tests may be recommended. Please discuss this with your nutritional therapist as these can be arranged for you where considered appropriate.

    We rarely recommend food intolerance tests, as there is conflicting evidence in support of their efficacy. However, in certain circumstances they can be provide useful information to facilitate a short term elimination of problem foods. You can discuss this with your nutritional therapist at your consultation.

    If you are interested in getting your DNA tested to discover what disease risks are influenced by your genes and lifestyle, let us know as we can arrange this for you. The test also reveals your personalised impact on vitamins, nutrients and predisposition to gluten, lactose, caffeine and alcohol intolerance.

    Other functional tests may be considered on a case by case basis and discussed with you if appropriate at you consultation.

  • No. In our experience, they are too prescriptive and difficult to follow. We offer meal and snack ideas to fit in with your individual tastes and lifestyle.

  • We require payment in advance of your appointment. Payments can be made by bank transfer, credit or debit card or via the Practice Better client portal.

    To make your package of appointments more manageable, there is also the option to set up a payment plan.

  • We operate a 48 hour cancellation policy. This means that we require at least 48 hours notice of a cancellation or change to your appointment date or time. Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice and ‘no shows’ will be charged in full due to loss of available clinic time.

  • We understand that sometimes things get away from you and so we send an automated reminder email 24 hours prior to each appointment to help you stay on track.

    If you’re late for your first appointment, you may still be seen if it is within 30 minutes of the start time, but the duration of your appointment will be reduced as the nutritional therapist may have an appointment after yours. For those later than 30 minutes unfortunately we will have to reschedule your appointment as the nutritional therapist will not be able to carry out a full assessment and plan with limited time. A rebooking fee will be charged in this instance.

    If you’re more than 15 minutes late for your follow-up appointment we won’t be able to see you and your appointment will have to be rescheduled, where a rebooking fee will be charged.

  • It is the your responsibility to ensure that you have a working internet connection for online consultations, If you are unable to connect as scheduled, the appointment is considered a ‘no show’ and charged in full.
